What is Real Rank?
RealRank.com is a website that opens the door to measure the popularity and reputation of anything or anyone. It is a place where you can build your own reputation, complain about a customer service issue, track a rock band's popularity, view a company's identity or products over time, vent about an employer or even warn others about scams and bad service.
For ratings and feedback to actually have any impact, they must be heard and taken seriously. RealRank allows users to send their rating and feedback to whoever owns the profile of which they are rating, so it can be heard. Ratings are calculated so they will impact reputation to force them to be taken seriously.
Each profile is then ranked in their appropriate categories and fluctuates as more ratings come in.
Feedback left on a profile can be completely anonymous!
The only way a profile owner can increase their ranking is to gain more "good" ratings and to reply with users that have rated them to possibly give them another rating that is good to balance out the bad one.
Our Intent...
We all have a voice and our own opinions, and we want them to be heard and taken seriously. Until now, there has never been anything that allows us to ensure that these opinions, advice, feedback, and comments are actually heard. Our intent with making RealRank.com is to ensure that people care about feedback they receive and take it into consideration; that companies don't blow off their complaining customers; that groups, people, and products get the backing and reputation they've worked so hard to build.
By opening this up to everything and everyone, it puts us all on a level playing field. Where users must give feedback in a way they would like to receive it, because they probably will.
About Us
RealRank was founded in 2008 after a bad business deal caused our founder to look for a way to warn others about a company that was using bad business practices. The better business bureau could maybe help through a long process, but they would never have actually had any impact on this company, nor would the company care if the BBB came after them. So the only way was to use word of mouth.
There were complaint sites here and there, but nothing that held the companies to anything. We found that companies could easily screw their complaining customers and say, "Thank you, come again."
We thought it would be a novel idea to track all of these complaints and throw in the good things people had to say as well and then create a ranking system. This way, there would be footprint that a potential customer could quickly check before doing business with a company.
After this was planned, certain products would eventually fail for our founder, others would prove to be worthwhile, specific people would represent themselves in humanly way and others would not . . . thus opening the idea to ranking anything and putting reputations that were primarily offline, online.
The "comments" fields on blogs and forums seem to help people show their REAL opinions online, so we've kept that format. Rate, leave feedback, discuss . . . We just ask that people think about their feedback while posting it. Be honest and accurate, but of course communicate it in a way you would like to receive it.
